Human x Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013

Hey, loves! I know it's been quite a while since I last posted something here but now I'm back and instead of the usual outfit posts, I have something different in store for you guys! I'm pretty sure that most of you are aware that last week was Philippine Fashion Week. I was given a chance to be one of the styling assistants for three shows: Cary Santiago, Human, and Lesley Mobo. However, since I wasn't able to take pictures during the Cary Santiago show, I will only be blogging about the two other shows.

The Human show was divided into segments. I, together with Will and Nicky, was assigned to the Little Rascals segment. Basically, the models in this segment should look like.. well, rascals! Haha. Mischievous, naughty, dishonest. Usually, the clothes are already pre-styled and we just have to assist during the fitting and the show itself. Luckily, we were allowed to style six looks because if I remember it correctly, they were not able to finish pre-styling due to lack of time.

Here are the three looks that I styled:

Hat added by Sir Nio Manzano! :p

This was the first time that I styled (for real) for a fashion show so I'm really thankful for the opportunity! The highlight of the day wasn't this one, though. Can you guess what?!

I got to see Kylie Jenner and Rob Kardashian!! Yeah, styling for a fashion show was a first for me. But THIS?! This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! I mean I have always wanted to see Kendall and Kylie but I never thought it could happen, ever!

I actually found out that they were coming here to walk for Human from a batch-mate. When I confirmed it myself, I immediately asked Sir Nio if they needed interns for Human and if so, I'd really, really, really love to volunteer! And they did!! Imagine the joy when he told me that I'd be doing the Human show. Heehee. Thanks again, Sir Nio! ;-) From that day on, my goal was to have a photo taken with them!

On the day of the show, I was planning what to do to achieve the goal in my head the entire time! HAHA. They finally arrived with too many bodyguards. Yes, even at the backstage! That was when I started to lose hope. It was so difficult to be anywhere near them, seriously! The show already ended and I still haven't gotten my photo taken with them. When they were about to leave, Rob went out of the dressing room and just stood there, waiting for Kylie. That was my only chance! So I called him and asked. Then Kylie went out. Then I got my photo! Gawd, was I lucky!! I believe I was the only one backstage who got a photo taken with them! Harhar. I went home really happy that day!

Iris

Yesterday, I went to FIP to submit my styling portfolio. After two months, I've already finished Fashion Styling. Yay! After I get back my portfolio, I just have to have my certificate processed then I'm a legit fashion stylist! Another yay for that! Harhar.

Anyway, you guys haven't seen the photos of our shoot for our finals so here they are. Just read on! For our last shoot, I paired up with my classmate Trisha. Among the pegs that were given to us, we chose Iris Apfel, a 90-year old fashion icon.

Menswear

Finally, after nearly a month, we finally got the photos from our menswear shoot! Here are the three looks that I styled. For this shoot, we were given a challenge: we were supposed to help our model create a setcard. I was assigned the clean look, hence the first two photos. I was also able to style another look, which was the last photo.

Majestic

A couple of weeks back, we had our haute couture shoot, which was themed 'royalty'. One of these photos, together with my classmates', was supposed to be displayed during Resorts World's Majestic Anniversary. Unfortunately, our class wasn't informed of the details of the exhibit. Before we knew it, it was already past the deadline. Sad, I know. At least, I was able to share it with you dolls, right?

Let me know what you think! :)

Gothic

About three weeks ago, we had our womenswear shoot. This was also the first shoot wherein we got to actually style a full outfit. Exciting, right?! The peg for this shoot is gothic. I'm pretty sure that when you read 'gothic', the first thing that entered your mind was 'black'. Well, I'm right, aren't I?

For the hair, we went with the messy updo. For the make-up, smokey eyes is the key, of course!

I added a touch of gold to the look by using a gold square bangle and a black & gold dangling earrings. I didn't accessorize much, though, because I wanted to draw attention to every detail of the outfit itself. I love each and every piece of garment here. I mean what's not to love? You have lace, faux leather, and extraordinary tights!

What do you guys think?

Creative Beauty Shoot

Hi, dolls! I know I've been MIA for so long but now I'm back and I have a little something for you. :) If you drop by and read my blog regularly, I'm pretty sure you know that I'm currently taking up Fashion Styling. Two weeks ago, we finally had our first photo shoot. Not only did we get to style the model; we were actually the ones who planned everything -- hair, make-up, etc.

For this shoot, we had nine layouts. We went from clean to glamour to avant garde -- make-up was from light to dark, hair was from messy to pulled back to styled, accessories and outfits were from few/bare to layered. I'm sure you get what I mean but to better understand, here are the photos!

Styling by yours truly!

I'm really proud of this, although there's still room for improvement! It's only my first, after all. ;-) Also, for me, this isn't it just yet. Styling, I mean. Since it's only a creative beauty shoot, I basically picked out a top and an accessory and voila. Styling for me is this: I'm given pieces of garments to choose from and I create outfits from it.
