The heat is on!

Hey, loves! I'm pretty sure, I'm not the only one who can already feel the summer heat! The holidays are long gone and so is the cool weather (in the Philippines, at least!). That means summer is just a few months away! Who's excited for the beach?! I know I am! ;-) Anyway, the weather now calls for my favorite: shorts! I love wearing shorts 'cause they're too versatile. Now, I went for the laid back-slash-lazy look (again) and wore a pair of high-waisted ones paired with a loose shirt and my favorite, wedge sneakers!

What I love when I am wearing high-waisted shorts is that it gives the illusion that I'm taller that I am. And the wedge sneakers? The real thing: added height! Ha, I really am taller! These two combined is something a 5'2" like me needs! Haha.

Hearts

Here's another one of my lazy day outfits! Last night, I found this sheer heart top in my closet. I realized I haven't worn it for ages so I decided to wear it today. Hearts! Can you feel the love? Can you, can you? Because I can! It's actually my parents' 23rd anniversary today so that top is just perfect. Plus Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Haha. Anyway, back to my outfit. I believe there's no better way to wear this top than pairing it with tights/leggings. I completed the outfit with my wedge sneakers that I love so much. I know some of you are tired of seeing 'em in my posts but I'm not giving it a break anytime soon so forgive me! ;))

Silver and Denim

Three days ago, I felt like wearing my wedge sneakers again. Good thing I had work the following day! Whenever I'm gonna wear this pair, it's a given that my look would be laid back and effortless (Or not! Maybe it's just my personal style. ;-) ). This time, I wore it with my denim button-down top (which you've probably seen here, here, and here) and leggings, which was worn as tights. I love everything about this look! Seems like the pieces were made for each other! The entire day, I felt like a Hollywood celebrity off duty once again! Haha. Forgive the ambitious Michelle. She just loves her wedge sneakers too much.

To match the silver details of my sneakers, I wore this silver necklace. I kept my other accessories simple and wore just a black & silver watch and my default stack of bracelet. What do you think of this look? :p

Lunch Date

Yesterday, I went to Greenbelt and met up with my high school friend, Thea. Since she moved to New York about six years ago, she has already visited the Philippines twice but I only got to see her on the first one. Blame it on the busy schedule of a nursing student! Ugh. Anyway, now that she's visiting again, we had to see each other! We had lunch at Via Mare and then had coffee at Starbucks. It's been years and it felt like one day wasn't enough to catch up on everything. But here's what I can say: It may have been too long, but one thing's for sure: we still love to talk about the same things we used to talk about before -- shopping, handbags, and shoes! Gah. I really hope I could go and visit her in New York really soon! And shop, shop, shop together! ;-)

Denim Vest

I've had this denim vest for quite some time now and on Sunday, I finally got to wear it for the first time. It's actually from a really old denim jacket! One night, I found the jacket in my mum's closet, realized that no one's using it anymore, and cut 'em! And I must say, it turned out just the way I wanted it to! I wore it over a grey tank tucked in a bandage skirt. I finished my look with my favourite pair of shoes at the moment, my wedge sneakers!

Faux Fur and Leather

I'm not sure if it was just me or the weather has really been bipolar lately -- Mr. Sun shines bright but the wind? It's really cold. I've even had goosebumps at times! I wanted to take advantage of the weather and decided to take my leather pants out for a spin. I've been wanting to wear it for quite some time now but it's just too darn hot in the Philippines! Now's the perfect time!

What I like about this pair is that it's not your usual leather pants. It has triangular faux fur panels. This piece, however, is kind of bulky so I had to wear it with my wedge sneakers! That way, I won't look shorter than I really am. I know what you're thinking! Why not wear heels instead, right? Wedge sneakers are too comfortable! Heels, not so! Don't get me wrong, though! I love wearing heels as well, just not on this day.

Moving on, there's already too much going on from the waist down. To tone down the look a bit, I wore a plain and simple shirt and kept my accessories to a minimum. What do you think?

Happy New Year's!!

This might be a little too late but happy new year's, loves! 2012 has been an amazing year, filled with lots life-changing events -- I graduated college with honors, fulfilled my dream of becoming a Fashion Stylist, have had work experiences (both fashion-related and not!), and received a wonderful blessing which is my baby brother, just to name a few. Most of all, I've started this style blog. To all my readers, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me for the past six months!! :)

Lately, I haven't been posting a lot because of my busy schedule (Really sorry, loves!) but this brand new year, I'll do my best to post more often than I used to! Here's to a fresh new start not only for us, but also for my blog!

It has been our tradition as a family to spend New Year's Eve in our home, so I don't really get to dress up. I didn't bother to take outfit shots that night anymore 'cause what I wore wasn't woth sharing here. On New Year's Day however, my family and I went to Eastwood and here's what I wore. I just had to wear my favourite pair of shoes at the moment again! From there, I looked for something that would go with it and came up with this lovely new top and my leather shorts.

I wore my new Casio watch and my favourite bracelets to finish my look! What do you think about it? According to my cousin, I look like a Hollywood celebrity off duty! Heehee. I just love the effortless vibe this look gave!

That Cupcake with A Cherry On Top

By now, you already know how much I adore my wedge sneakers. I've worn it four times already since I bought it exactly a week ago! Others may find the wedge sneaker trend tacky. I myself wasn't sure how to feel about it at first, but the moment I tried 'em on, I fell in love right away. It's just what girls like me seriously need in their lives!

I've worn it with leggings, a dress, and skinny jeans. This time, I wore it with shorts and a black cover-up over layered tank tops for a more effortless look. I finished my look with my mum's houndstooth-print bag. Yes, that print is back! It's actually one of the hottest prints this season, so this bag isn't going back to my mum's closet anytime soon! ;-)

Edgy At Its Finest

  

Last week, I mentioned about a job interview I had here. On Thursday morning, Carla asked me if I could come back that afternoon, and I did. After a quick follow-up interview, I was told that I start the following day. Yay!! That was one early Christmas present for me! You'll know more about this new job on my next posts. For now, let me tell you about my outfit.

Originally, I was going to wear this top and wedge sneakers with a pair of shorts for our Christmas party that night at my friend Tisha's place, but since I had to go back for a follow-up interview, I can't do so anymore. I decided to wear 'em with jeans instead.

  

Even though I wasn't able to stick to my original styling, I sill loved how my look turned out. The wedge sneakers is definitely the star of this outfit! It brought out my edgy style, and the studs on my top and bag gave more character to the look. Since there's already too much going on here, I don't need to accessorize that much anymore. I just wore a simple aztec necklace and my favourite stack of bracelets.

Sporty Chic

This look reminded me so much of a professional model off duty! Haha. Last summer, I had my first internship at Not Enough Circuses, Inc., a production house which does fashion shows. If you're familiar with Style Origin, those were the shows that we did, and this just-got-off-the-bed look is something that some of our models back then would wear to fittings or rehearsals. I think it's 'cause it's too comfy, just what they need for a very long day ahead.

Look at that pose! I told you, my peg was a model! Harhar. Let's move on to my outfit now, shall we? I've had this dress for months now but I've never worn it before 'cause I didn't know how best to! On my previous post, I told you all about my new kicks. I thought it's perfect for this dress, and it was! I love how my look turned out, giving the lazy, comfy vibe -- so perfect for a long day of walking and shopping.

Pumped Up Kicks

I've been wanting to buy a pair of wedge sneakers for months, but it was too difficult for me to decide 'cause first, I'm not sure if I'd really get to wear it and second, I couldn't find a store selling one. Sure, there are a lot of online shops who do but I want to try 'em on first before I decide if I really want it. Yesterday, I finally solved my dilemma! I went to Forever 21 to check if they have the gold sneakers that I also want in my size. When I got to the shoe section, they they were: wedge sneakers in different colors! My goodness, I died!! Haha. Right then and there, I forgot about the gold sneaks!

Earlier today, we went to Greenhills so I got to wear it for the first time already. Since I don't have time to experiment with my outfits just yet, I tried to keep it simple first and paired it with black leggings and a grey oversized top. What do you think? Also, if you have suggestions on how to wear wedge sneakers, let me know! ;-) For now, let me talk about the sneaks itself.

 

Grey & silver wedge sneakers: Forever 21

The real reason why I love 'em so much is the added height it gives me -- I'm three inches taller in them! I appear taller without looking too dressed up, unlike when I'm wearing heels. They're really very comfy, too! I can seriously walk all day. I also love how the wedges are concealed, making it look just like your ordinary sneakers. I love 'em so much, I just might get another pair in a different color, or who knows, maybe even the Isabel Marant ones, which is the original when it comes to wedge sneakers, if I still am in love with them after quite some time!
